This has been a weird and wet summer when it comes to weather, but summer is passing us by and it won’t be too long before school bells start ringing again. With the new school year starting soon, it’s a good idea to get the back to school shopping done early, so you don’t have to go through a last minute scramble to get all the different things your kids will need. Fortunately, when it comes to Kanata, there are many options for where to buy much-needed school supplies.
Kids need all kinds of things for school, from pens and pencils to backpacks and expensive calculators. You can find a lot of these things at any of the dollar stores scattered around Kanata, and you can get just about everything you will need in on go at Walmart or Staples. You may pay more for certain things at one of these big stores, but it might be worth it for the convenience of getting everything under one roof.
Kanata is spoiled for options when it comes to clothing stores. If you are looking for something more affordable, there are thrift shops and consignment stores like My Sister’s Closet, Boomerang Kids, Act II Fashions, Three Bags Full Consignment, and Value Village, plus the Salvation Army store in nearby Bell’s Corners. If you’re looking for something newer, there is Elm Hill Kids, as well as multiple factory outlet stores at the Tanger Outlet mall, including American Eagle Outfitters, Hot Topic, Levis, GIs, Banana Republic, and Old Navy. Besides these outlet stores there are also department stores throughout Kanata with clothing options, so you are sure to find exactly what you’re looking for without going too far.
Kids can’t learn on an empty stomach, so making sure they have good lunches is important. Kanata has many different grocery stores, including a Loblaws, a Sobeys, a Real Canadian Superstore, and a Costco (if you have a membership), more than enough to stock any kitchen. However, there are also options if you want to add something a little different to your little one’s lunch. To add some fresh tastes to school lunches you can stop by one of Kanata’s bakeries, like La Provence or Beyond the Batter, or visit the Kanata Farmer’s Market that runs every Saturday until the end of October.
Back to school shopping doesn’t have to be stressful, and Kanata offers many opportunities to browse and buy whatever it is your little ones need.
